I’m Simon Bowen, a coach and mentor near Berlin.
I work in English with people who are deciding whether to start a company or a project, are in the middle of one, or are at the point it ends.
How I got here
I began my career in architecture and have worked in digital media, e-commerce and software since 1995. From 1998 to 2014 I successfully built and managed the e-commerce side of a natural skincare business based in the UK. I’ve coached and mentored since 2008.
From 2014 to 2019 I ran innovation sessions and coached MBA students at HSBA in Hamburg. In 2015 I started Cosmetri, a B2B software company in Berlin, scaled and successfully sold it in 2022, and stayed on as Product Manager with the US-based buyer until 2024.
In each of those roles I supported other people with what they were building: I tutored architecture diploma students at Oxford Brookes, consulted for cosmetics businesses, coached MBA students at HSBA, and supported the team around me at Cosmetri. I know from experience the courage it takes to turn an idea into something real, and I work with people at each moment of it, from the decision to start to the point it ends.
Accreditation
I completed the Practitioner Diploma in Executive Coaching at the Academy of Executive Coaching in 2025, and I’m accredited by the EMCC at Practitioner level. I work to the EMCC Global Code of Ethics.
Where I am
I live in the countryside outside Berlin with my wife, Kristina, and we co-run a local café and community space. I sing in a choir, run, and am happy when working in our house and garden.
